This 2-day workshop on an Integrated Model for the Bereaved conceptualizes the impacts of loss through death, based on trauma-related theories and meaning reconstruction.  It also introduces the following meaning-oriented strategies for clients to restore the shattered life, including Restorative Retelling, Externalizing Conversation, and Loss Epicentres in Life.

This 2-day workshop offers a generous toolbox of strategies for not only identifying and giving voice to often ambiguous and disenfranchised losses, but also eliciting strengths and fostering transformation.  It would prepare therapists to partner with clients in bearing witness to their invisible grief, as well as recruiting resources to facilitate their growth.

This 2-day workshop re-examines the definition of grief in view of the growth of an increasingly older demographic, which has implications for issues related to non-death losses.  It also explores the role of presence and compassion in assisting those whose lives are punctuated by trauma and uncertainty, and so experience intense suffering and deep sorrow.

This 2-day workshop equips you with the fundamental understanding of grief and loss, as well as how to assess one's coping in the face of the resulting disruptions.  Specific attention would be given to various high-risk groups and warning signs that indicate possible complications in the grief journey.

Small group practice using Meaning Reconstruction skills, with learners taking turns in the role of the therapist, client and observer, followed by feedback and processing with Portland Institute practicum faculty.
