This 2-day workshop equips you to look at grief and loss through a meaning reconstruction lens, and appreciate the systemic impact on the bereaved families.  This will also enable you to go beyond the individual perspectives and facilitate the post-loss adjustments and meaning-making attempts within and between all family members, both adults and children.

This 2-day workshop on an Integrative Model for the Bereaved conceptualizes the impacts of separation through death, based on attachment-related theories and meaning reconstruction.  It also introduces the following meaning-oriented tools for clients to rebuild their attachment security and to continue the disrupted bond, including Our Braided Paths, use of Chair Work, and Tree of Legacy.

This 2-day workshop equips you with the fundamental understanding of grief and its complications, as well as how to assess one's coping and discern if such coping is considered as adaptive or not.  Specific attention would be given to identification of various high-risk groups and how complications in the grief journey may manifest in different forms.

This 2-day workshop will introduce meaning-oriented perspectives to examine death anxiety and pre-death grief as experienced by those diagnosed with a terminal illness.  It will also equip you with meaning reconstructive tools to support these clients for life review and preservation of sense of self, as well as facing their end of life and eventual death.

Small group practice using Meaning Reconstruction skills, with learners taking turns in the role of the therapist, client and observer, followed by feedback and processing with Portland Institute practicum faculty.
